  • good good good

Just got back from a great weekend in Washington. Much thanks to my love for having me at her place all weekend! We were caught  messing around by her mom. Luckily there was nothing much going on and she wasn't especially mad. We're definitely old enough to be respectful. Good times.

Mailing in the offer acceptance letter for my new job. It is a sweet company and a sweet offer. I can't wait to start in a few weeks. I'm pretty tired and stressed. Classes and wrapping things up at Cisco are sucking up all of my days (and my soul). Think i'll eat a val and head to bed.

Often I wish that life were easy. That big decisions never had to be made, nothing would require deep thought, and that the easy option was ostensibly the best. Unfortunately life is very difficult and only gets harder as you age and are entrusted with new responsibilities. This past month or two has been brutal for me. I've had job problems, school problems, relationship woes, new job offers, for a moment there was contention between potential employers, an angry outgoing boss, car problems, and more that I don't want to write about. I'm glad that most of them are resolved, and nearly all of those that are still unresolved are coming within my grasp. It is tough though and I still have a lot of hard work ahead of me.

It was so fitting when I heard this song on the radio the other day.
    When We Were Young

Funny how things just tasted better
    When we were young
    When we were young

Funny how things just seemed so easy
    When we were young

    It's been a long day
    It's been a long day
    It's been a long day
    It's been a long day

    I wanna get out
    I wanna go home
    Is anything better
    Than you on the phone

    I wanna get out
    I wanna go home
    Is anything better
    Than you on the phone

I think that we weren't always grateful
    For what you've done
    When we were young

I think that we weren't always grateful
    For what you've done

    We've come a long way
    We've come a long way
    We've come a long way
    We've come a long way

    I wanna get out
    I wanna go home
    Is anything better
    Than you on the phone

    You on the phone
    You on the phone...

  • time for a change

i received a really cool job offer. the company is local and they are a startup. i'm excited about it.

however, they made me an offer (verbally) on friday, sent the offer letter today, and want an answer by thursday. wtf ??

I feel like i'm getting the hard sell at a used car dealership. Been there before and its maddening!

At the current job, I am geting so annoyed by people who abuse the "Work from home" policy. Especially on a tuesday. I just instant messaged one of the senior engineers on some code of his that I need help with. It is 2:42pm right now. I'll let you know when he wakes up from his nap and responds.
edit: 3:58pm. Duane, nice nap pal. at least get up once an hour and wiggle your mouse or somethign.
